  im not sure wat the exact meaning of it is but this is my guess and hopefully it will help u in anyway....
  
  As people mention before in the previous post,
  
  íts tryin to tell us that revenge is not the solution to resolve any matter.
  let mi give u an example, if we apply this saying to gangsters.
  
  -let say ur friend(david) when out clubbing and got into a fight with some guy(John) tryin to pick up his girlfriend. JOhn end up dying on the street and đavi got away with it, but of course JOhn friends and family is not satisfied and seek revenge. Runnnin around town with their friend looking for david and eventually david will end up dead. Again his david frineds and family will seek the people who kill david for revenge again....the cycle will continue with countless numbers of death.
  
  -a person has inflicted some painfull scar in ur life, doesnt give u the right to go and inflict those pain back on to him because all it does is keeping the two person in a cyle of endless pain and revenge. When will the cycle be finish or will it ever end.. Letting go and forgiving, moving on will not only end this revengefully cycle between people but it also makes ur life happier.
  
  Anyway i guess u should get the point by now...i know the example i gave sounds pretty crap but yeh
  If this is an assignment or something for school im suggesting u too use the worlds current issue, like America and Iraq,

• An eye for an eye originally appeared in the bible where it was understood that if you done something wrong you have to repay exactly by it. Just like in phim HK where lấy máu trả máu which is the similar meaning.

• the author of the quote (someone mentioned ghandi?) obviously does not believe in retaliation. he probably meant to say that your retaliation will evoke more retaliations which work like a chain reaction. in the end, everybody becomes the victim of retaliation (hence, blind).
