where do you go to medical school next year?
University of Kansas School of Medicine --- heheh Kansas... (boring) but it's my hometown sooo it's all cool!
congratulation, i'm heading to medical school this coming fall, too. but i'll stay in the west coast, I don't like the east coast schools, too competitive for me. Good luck with med school, I hope to have a chance to work with you in the future, may be during residency

Until now (2006), 7 Pharmacy schools in California do not require PCAT yet as well as some out-of-state pharmacy schools. Also, there are no requirement of BA/BS degree prior to enter Pharmacy school, but it is very competive so you are better to have a degree to get in any related medical schools.
You can have a degree in pharmacy after graduate from a pharmacy school with title as B.S. Pharm. (Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy) (if graduated before 2000), as Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) after 2000. Then, you become an official pharmacist after passing State Board Exam .
Then, if you want to study more, you can do residency (aka "hand-on" care patients) for 1 or 2 years with title RPh (Registered Pharmacist).
Post doc program needs to do research, experiment, and solution of problems in the area of pharmaceutics. Requirement for Ph.D program in Pharmacy must have Pharm.D and residency, and title will be Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy).
